As part of its ongoing editorial development, Business & Society benefits from the expertise of four deputy editors: Maoliang Bu, Collins G. Ntim, Simon Pek, and Lea Stadtler. Each previously served as an associate editor of the journal and brings extensive scholarly and editorial experience to the role.
Together, their expertise reflects the broad scope of research published in Business & Society, including corporate governance, sustainability, international business, alternative forms of organizing, and cross-sector collaboration.
Maoliang Bu is a Professor at Nanjing University and Adjunct Professor at the Hopkins-Nanjing Center at the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies. His extensive research has been published in several leading academic journals, including the Journal of International Business Studies (JIBS), Strategic Management Journal (SMJ), and Journal of Comparative Economics. He has received the prestigious Alexander von Humboldt Foundation fellowship.
Collins G. Ntim (PhD, CPA) is a Professor of Accounting at the University of Southampton Business School (USBS), UK. He has previously served as a head of department, associate dean, and deputy head of school. He has published extensively in the accounting, finance, business, and management journals (e.g., FT50, CABS 4, ABDC A*, etc) focusing on long-standing research interests in accounting, finance, governance, development, and sustainability. He has consulted widely for several organizations, such as the Financial Reporting Council, UK, and the World Bank, including leading the development of the National Corporate Governance Code for Ghana.
Simon Pek is an associate professor of business and society at the Gustavson School of Business, University of Victoria, and Associate Director of the Centre for Regenerative Futures. His research interests include alternative forms of organizing, employee ownership, sustainability-oriented culture change, and workplace democracy. Simon’s research has appeared in outlets including the Academy of Management Review, Organization Science, Strategic Management Journal, Business Ethics Quarterly, and Journal of Business Ethics.
Lea Stadtler is an Associate Professor of Strategy and Sustainability at Grenoble Ecole de Management. Her research focuses on the dynamics and management of sustainability collaborations, particularly partnerships between companies and nonprofit and/or public organizations, as well as collaboration among competitors. She has published in academic journals such as the Journal of Management Studies, Organization Studies, Public Administration Review, Journal of Business Ethics, and Business & Society, and has received international research awards for her work.
The deputy editors’ combined experience supports the journal’s commitment to publishing rigorous and relevant research on the relationships between business, society, and the natural environment.
